Honor 9 STF-L09 root method is now available For EMUI9.1. This is a universal root method and compatible with all variants of Honor 9. But getting the bootloader to unlock the code can be a complex task because the phone needs to be downgraded. The phone needs to be on the June 2018 Patch level in-order to get the bootloader code. Just like EMUI8 bootloader unlock will wipe all data on your phone. The root method we will use in this tutorial is Magisk.

Honor 9 Rooting Tutorial

• Backup all important data from the phone
• Enable OEM unlock in developer options
• Unlock bootloader of your phone (Buy bootloader code)
• Download root files from THIS LINK (password=ministryofsolutions.com)
• Extract downloaded files
• Copy Magisk zip file to your sd card
• Connect the phone in fastboot mode and open MAF32.exe file
• Type ” fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img ” and press enter
• After successful flashing disconnect phone from computer
• Hold the volume up and power
• Keep holding even after a reboot, the phone will enter TWRP mode.
• Then tap on Install and then tap on Select Storage and choose Micro SD card
• Find Magisk zip and tap on it, then swipe to flash
• After that press reboot the system.
• Once the phone tries to reboot hold the volume up and power instantly. Keep holding the buttons for 10 seconds then leave.
• Let the phone reboot
• Profit, Your phone has been rooted
• Every time you power off the phone or reboot the phone, you have to press the volume up and power buttons to enable the root
• Don’t update/factory reset the phone after Root
