Huawei P20 Lite is a low-range device equipped with a Kirin 659 chipset. But luckily this phone is treble-enabled and compatible with GSI Project. We have recently tested Pixel Experience Android 11 ROM on this phone, which was installed without any problem. Later, we also rooted this ROM with Magisk, installed Xposed, and fixed the SafetyNet. So basically this could be a good package for users who love to modify their phone with root access and Xposed framework. We are not able to provide an in-depth usage review of this ROM, but all GSI ROMs may have some bugs as these rooms are generally released for all treble-enabled devices.

Huawei P20 Lite ROM Installation Guide:

• Make sure the phone running EMUI9.1 (EMUI8 is not supported)
• Back up all important data from your phone, you cannot restore data using hisuite, so use a different method.
• Unlock the bootloader of your phone (Details Here)
• Download ROM from THIS LINK (Click Here) or click here and download (PixelExperience_arm64-ab-11.0-20211009-UNOFFICIAL.img.xz)
• Make sure you download PixelExperience_arm64-ab-11.0-20211009-UNOFFICIAL.img.xz)
• Extract the file using WinRAR and you will get an IMG file of ROM
• Copy “PixelExperience_arm64-ab-11.0-20211009-UNOFFICIAL.img” to sd card of your phone.
• Download installation tools from this link
• Extract the tools zip and copy NFC_Hotspot-Universal.zip file in sd card.
• Then power off the phone and disconnect from pc, then hold the volume down and insert the cable
• The phone will enter fastboot mode
• Open MAF32.exe and flash TWRP (command example=fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img)
• Disconnect phone from pc and hold volume up and power, Keep holding until appears TWRP recovery mode
• Swipe to allow modifications
• Now tap on wipe >advanced wipe then tick only system partition and swipe to wipe
• Then go back to the main menu of TWRP
• Tap on install > Tap on install image > Tap on Select Storage > choose SD CARD and select Pixel ROM file
• Select system_image partition to install and swipe to flash
• Once flashing is complete, Don’t reboot
• Then go back to the main menu of TWRP and tap on Install > Install Zip>Select Storage>sd card> tap on NFC_Hotspot-Universal.zip and swipe to flash
• Don’t reboot yet, Go back to the main menu of TWRP and tap on reboot, and select Bootloader
• The phone should enter fastboot mode, type the command ” fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk RECOVERY_RAMDISK.img ” and press enter
• Now disconnect the phone from pc and then hold the volume+ and power buttons, keep holding until appears Recovery mode.
• Now wipe data/factory reset. and then reboot the phone, 1st boot may take a few minutes

Root and SafetyNet Fix (Optional):

• ROM works without root but if you are interested in installing root access on this ROM please follow my tutorial for P20 Lite EMU 9.1 Root 2022

EdXpposed Installation (Optional):

• From the magisk modules list, install “Riru-Edxposed” and then install latest exposed manager, and reboot the phone.
• For edXposed you must install “Riru” module that we have provided in a zip file otherwise Xposed will not work.
• If Safetynet breaks after Xposed, please install Xposed module “Hidden Core Module” as shown in the image below.
