A new firmware update has been released for Huawei Mate 8 NXT-L29 Middle Eastern variant. Users with cust version C185 will be able to install this upgrade. This update includes Google security patches from 1 December 2017. 3D panorama effect has been added to the camera. And recycle bin feature has been introduced in this upgrade.

Offline Installation Method

• You must be running any version of android nougat (Marshmallow is not supported for this method)
• You need an sd card with 4GB of free storage
• Download firmware files from the links given above
• Rename “update_data_full_public.zip” to “update_data_public.zip”
• And rename “update_full_NXT-L29_hw_meafnaf.zip” to “update_all_hw.zip”
• Enable OEM unlock in developer options
• Unlock the bootloader of your phone ( How to unlock? )
• Then download HWOTA.zip from THIS LINK
• Extract HWOTA.zip, you will get the HWOTA folder, copy 3 firmware zip files in this folder
• Then install TWRP by following THIS TUTORIAL
• Copy HWOTA folder to sd card, and insert sd card in the phone
• Boot to TWRP recovery by holding volume up and power
• Swipe to allow modifications, and tap on install
• Tap on select storage and choose sd card, then in the HWOTA folder select ” nxt_hwota_update.zip ” and swipe to install.
• The phone should reboot and start the installation automatically.
