The international variant JAD-LX9 runs EMUI12 while the Chinese version runs Huawei’s self-made HarmonyOS. HarmonyOS is only compatible with the Chinese variant JAD-AL00. • Backup all essential data from the phone
• Charge the battery up to 50%
• The phone must be running HarmonyOS
• Get an OTG flash drive with 8GB of free space

• Connect OTG to the phone
• Power off the phone, hold the volume up and connect the cable, the phone will enter recovery mode
• Select update mode> OTG update
