Honor 9 STF-L09 root method is now available For EMUI9. This is a universal root method and compatible with all variants of Honor 9. But getting a bootloader unlock code can be a complex task because the phone needs to be downgraded. Phone need to be on June 2018 Patch level in order to get the bootloader code. Just like EMUI8 bootloader unlock will wipe all data on your phone. The root method we will use in this tutorial is Magisk.

Honor 9 Rooting Tutorial

• Backup all important data from the phone
• Enable OEM unlock in developer options
• Unlock the bootloader of your phone (Buy bootloader code)
• Download root files from THIS LINK (password=ministryofsolutions.com)
• Extract downloaded files
• Copy the Magisk zip file to your sd card
• Connect the phone in fastboot mode and open the MAF32.exe file
• Type ” fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img ” and press enter
• After successful flashing disconnect the phone from the computer
• Hold the volume up and power
• Keep holding even after a reboot, the phone will enter TWRP mode.
• Swipe to allow modifications
• Then tap on Install and then tap on Select Storage and choose Micro sd card
• Find Magisk zip and tap on it, then swipe to flash
• After that press reboot the system.
• Once the phone tries to reboot hold volume up instantly. Keep holding the volume up for 10 seconds then leave it
• Let the phone reboot
• Profit, Your phone has been rooted
• Every time you power off phone or reboot phone, you have to press volume up and power buttons to enable root
• Don’t update/factory reset phone after root
