Samsung A7 (2017) Root for Marshmallow 6.0.1
Samsung A7 (2017) root method has been found by sagitt67 on 4pda.ru thread . and we are thankful to him for this effort. Original guide is in Russian, which has been translated to English by me.
Before you start
- By rooting your phone will your knox will change to (0x1), and you will lose warranty.
- This Method has been tested on : A720FXXU1APLI
- I think it should work on models those have A720FXXU1 security
Rooting Guide
Enable developer option by tapping 7 times on build number
Enable USB debugging in developer options.
Enable OEM unlock in developer options.
Then go in setting> Screen lock & Protection > enable unknown source.
Download root package from This Link
Extract the download zip file, and install Samsung_USB_Driver_1.5.59.0.exe.
Connect device with PC, and when it asks for USB mode, enable data access.
Install ADBDriverInstaller.exe,
Now disconnect device, and switch it off. Hold (volume down, home, power) keys on 1st screen press volume up to enter Download Mode.
Now connect device with PC. and open Odin. if odin detects your phone on com port, should be visible in blue color in 1st box at top.
Now click AP and select “A7-2017-cwm.tar” and click start.
After successful installation disconnect phone, it should restart. once device is fully started, switch it off again.
Hold (volume up, home,power) and it should enter CWM recovery mode.
In recovery mode, use volume up/down keys and select “Install zip update package”.
On next screen select ” Install update from sideload”
Now connect phone with PC and run file “root.bat”, and follow on screen instructions.
it should start flashing superSU. on successful installation it should say Done, use back key and just select “reboot system now”
root is successful, if you wish you can update to latest SuperSU.
Download root checker and verify root access.
