if you want to open your Toshiba L510 system unit for service purpose or something you want to change inside, here the step by step guide for you,
Warning: if you are not good techinicaly don’t risk your laptop 🙂 go get help from some service center.

so 1st off all make sure you have soft cloth to put on table , to save laptop’s top side from scratches.
turn your laptop upside down as shown in image below, and remove all the screws with + screw driver.
all Screw points are marked with white lines, make sure you remove all of them

Once you removed all the screws from the back, remove the small cover on back, which is hiding your HDD & RAM, push it little up and it should be removed easily , after it there are some more you need to remove ,
see image below , for white lines marked as screw spots

once all these screws removed take your ram out and also take out the HDD, its not necessary to remove the RAM.

Once All done , turn your laptop ,ad lift the screen , now you have to remove a little plastic strip upside of keyboard as shown in the image below, you can use small – screw driver or a iron strip, you have to apply little extra force, and start removing from right side, yes otherwise you’ll break the locks, and remove it sensibly , hold it from near body as close as possible.

once strip is removed , you will see 2 small screws holding the keyboard on place, you have to remove these screws, see image below

Now lift your keyboard little up and slowly slide it to upward position, don’t push it hard, a little strip is attached to the motherboard , you may break it, so be careful , once keyboard is out remove the keyboard strip from motherboard, you have to open the strip lock, its small brown color plastic piece that hold the strip inside port, push that lock upwards slightly and it will release the strip. see image below

once key board is removed, you’ll have bare body in front of you , dont take apart now, few more things need to be removed, one screw & mouse pad strip. see image below,

make sure you took out the CD ROM, now start opening it from right down corner, dont apply too much force , if it stuck somewhere, make sure you see on the back side ,by mistake if you left any screw in.
slowly slowly remove the top part of the body and your main board will be visible then, see image below.

remove all the cable jacks shown in the image above, and one screw near the FAN and once is near cable jacks, the lift motherboard up from right side and slide it to the right side carefully, and your motherboard should come out, easily,
