How to install Primavera Professional 6 & Configuration with SQL server 2005 express

1. run the setup installer , enter the code and click next until you see the installation type window, chose primavera stand-alone,

then click next and uncheck the sample projects installation, see in the image below

after some more next clicks it will ask for license , click browse button and choose your license file, usually inside installation folder, see image below

then click next next & dont change anything else, once installation is completed , restart the computer
2. open primavera and try to login, with username: admin password: admin, it will give you server error.
now click the tab database PMDB,
3. on next windows you will see “Edit Database Connections”
4. click configure
5. Don’t change Database alias “PMDB “
6. choose driver type “Microsoft SQL Server/SQL Express”
7. Click Next and you will see “Configure SQL Server Connection “
8. now enter host name , you computer name is host name, to see your computer name, right click on my computer icon and click properties and there you will see computer name,
example (Your-PCPRIMAVERA)
9. and for database name enter “pmdb$primavera” this is default database name for primavera.
10. click next and dont change anything here, and click next again,
setup will check the database connection & then click finish.
for Methodology Management Database use same process
Host Name should be same
Database will be MMDB
Database should be mmdb$primavera
All other settings will be same.
