In this post you will learn how safely you can root Honor 8 (FRD-L09, FRD-L19). You are advised to make full backup of your data on phone before proceeding. You will also lose warranty of your phone by rooting it. You are also advised not to update your phone while its rooted. Now if you want to root please follow instructions given below.

Honor 8 Root

Rooting Guide:

• Backup all important data.
• Unlock bootloader of your phone (How to unlock?)
• Download required file from THIS LINK
• Extract downloaded file, copy SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815-EMUI5.0 to sdcard.
• Then open MAF32.exe
• Connect phone in fastboot mode and enter this command to ” fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-1-frd “
• Once TWRP flashed, disconnect from pc, then hold volume up and power, keep holding until see TWRP.
• Swipe to allow modification , then tap backup, select storage, and choose sdcard
• Select boot and system partition, and swipe to make backup (if anything goes wrong you will be able to restore this backup to fix phone.
• Once backup completed, Go back to main menu of TWRP then tap on install.
• Then tap on select storage, and choose sd card.
• tap on SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815-EMUI5.0.zip and swipe to flash.
• Once flashing completed, Press reboot system.
• If TWRP ask to install anything press do not install.
• After reboot, install root checker and confirm root access.
