We all know that bootloader unlock is critical if we want to root our phones. All major manufacturers lock bootloaders for user security. Luckily Xiaomi is one of those manufacturers who allow bootloader unlocking. And it’s free. In this tutorial, we will try to explain that how you can unlock the bootloader of your Xiaomi Phone.

Steps to follow:

• Create a free Mi account (Click Here)
• Enable sim data (you can’t use WiFi)
• Tap 7 times on the build number to enable developer options
• Now go to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status
• Once the Mi account is added successfully to your device, you will see a success message. If any error occurs, log out of the account and log in again.
• Now enable OEM unlock in developer options
• Enable USB debugging in developer options
• Backup all important data from the phone (it will be wiped)
• Now download Mi Unlock Tool from THIS LINK
• Open the unlock tool and log in with your Mi Account.
• Power off your phone and disconnect from pc
• Hold the volume down button and insert the cable, Phone should enter fastboot mode now
• Now Mi Unlock Tool should detect your phone, and an unlock button will appear
• Now press the unlock button, the tool will read phone data and a warning will appear that unlocking is risky, etc..
• You should confirm it by press UNLOCK ANYWAY
• And unlock process should start
• In some cases, you will get the notification to wait for 24/36/72 hours, and you have to do so. Once given time passes you can try again and the phone should be unlocked instantly.
