Samsung C9 Pro SM-C900F TWRP and Root Marshmallow

How to root?

  1. This guide is only tested on the QAB version of marshmallow (try on other versions at your risk, if it works on other versions please write in comments and help others)
  2. Install Samsung USB drivers, easily available on Samsung official site.
  3. Back up all important data, as your phone will factory reset during this process.
  4. The battery should be at least 50% charged
  5. Enable developer options
  6. Enable OEM unlock
  7. Disable Samsung reactivation lock
  8. Open Samsung galaxy apps store and download crom services open it to unlock your bootloader.
  9. Once the bootloader is unlocked, restart the phone in download mode (Switch off, then hold volume down + home button and power button) then press volume up to enter download mode.
  10. Download SuperSU from THIS LINK, and copy it to sd card.
  11. Download TWRP recovery from THIS LINK
  12. Download Latest ODIN from THIS LINK
  13. Open ODIN and connect your phone with PC, if you see a Blue/green bar in 1st box of Odin, it means the phone connected successfully.
  14. Now press the AP button and select ” SM-C900F_twrp-3.1.0-0.tar “
  15. Remove Tick from auto-reboot option, Then press start.
  16. Once flashing is finished, disconnect the phone from PC. and enter recovery mode (Don’t boot to normal mode) hold volume up, volume down, home, power) and when the phone starts to boot, release the volume down key.
  17. In TWRP swipe on 1st screen, don’t press on any button.
  18. It will be in Chinese, watch the video given below to change the language.
  19. Then in the main menu tap on wipe > format data, type yes. and swipe to format data.
  20. Then go back to the main menu and tap on Install, Select the SuperSU file that you have copied to sd card. and swipe to flash.
  21. Once the flashing process is finished, reboot the phone, VIOLA you have rooted your phone successfully.

    I can’t find step 7 “Disable Samsung reactivation lock”
    and in step 17 “data format” is not working.
    It showing mount errors…
    any workaround would be appreciated.

    Sorry .. Step 17 misunderstood by your video on youtube.. So finally it worked by “format data” button.
    But I can not find any option in step 18..
    “Then go back to main menu and tap advanced button and tap on root”
    Can’t find this option.
    Do you mean to flash “Super SU” zip file?

    1) TWRP is in chineese language.. we have to change it to english…. i followed your youtube video to do that. thanks.
    2) The phone will not reboot if we press reboot option in TWRP after flashing… It hangs… I restarted it by Volume UP+Volume Down+Home +Power button pressing…
