Does this work too if my Wi-Fi connection is stable but slower after Win10 upgrade? My Internet connection speed is 60Mb/s – Win 8.1 works at full speed. After Win10 I have 15-25Mb/s Wi-Fi but full speed Ethernet. But my girfriends older notebook after upgrade still works at full speed – what the hell?

Do you know if that help? I have Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter.

  6. give it a try,
some old cards are not compatible with win10
try to update latest driver from manufacturer website, not by windows update

Thank you for your answer 🙂

My girlfriend has older notebook (so it should have older card to) and it works perfect. But my notebook works just like I write in my previous post.
I tried different driver and still no luck. I hope that Redstone 2 (or how they call that) fix the problem.
Do you have any idea? Is it possible that your solution on this page help me? Best regards!

I am not that computer savvy. How do I change the router settings from auto to 11. Is this something I do from a laptop? Or, is it something I can actually see on the router?

  9. you have to access router control panel through laptop
and then in wireless settings you can change channel

  10. give me complete model name of your laptop

Thank you for your interest 🙂

    Toshiba C55-A1FN – PSCGAE
    Network card: Qualcomm Atheros AR956x

  12. press windows keys + A to open activity center
    and disable location
    and check speed again

  13. in some cases installing driver version 10.0.0.263 also resolves problem

  16. Could you please give me a step by step instruction. Since I last wrote this I have been all over the internet writing questions about my continual losing of my connection and I have been working on solutions that are getting me nowhere. So, I am back here.
Once again a step by step process would be easier for me.
From your instruction, I assume that I go to network and sharing center, access my adapter then somehow find the rest?
I'm probably 'way' off, this is why I do better with step by step instruction (thank you)

  17. no, you have to access your router control panel, by typing the ip address in your browser which is written on the back side of your router,
login is normally user: admin pass: admin
then go in wireless settings and change channel number

  18. Ok, I understand what you are saying now. But, I may have a problem completing this task since this is my landlords router in her bedroom and they are not having issues with connecting, only I am.
Wouldn't other devices in the home be having issues if it was just a matter of changing the channel? I mean, I have a free government phone which is really horrible in many aspects, yet even it can connect to this router here….

So, first of all "THANK YOU" for your guidance. I am not extremely computer savvy, but, I am good at following directions and a quick learner. With this said, is there "any" thing else I can try first?

  19. I also failed to mention that I did not try your first method until just now; going into advanced startup mode and following the steps. I just did so but something went kind of wrong. So, when I pushed number 7 and the laptop began to restart itself, I gave it at least 5 minutes before I decided to push the button on the laptop to turn it off then push it again to turn it back on. I did this because the screen seemed to be stuck. Should I have waited longer? More importantly did the action get cancelled out b/c I did this?

  20. Ok, well I have tried the first step 3 times now and it doesn't seem to have a permanent effect.

  21. So, what is the default user name and the default password?

  22. My Note Book is a INFOWAY NOTE W7440 + Wind7 HOME BASIC, with automatic updating Wind 10 to which key activates and deactivates the Wifi was driven straight before the wind 10 was normal, use the Drive Booster 3 to update the drive, but it does not solve. What solution do you recommend?

  23. Install windows 7 compatible drivers from manufacturers website
